A Parallax Course
COURSE: Rebuilding Magick in Theory and Practise
In this second installment of the ongoing Parallax courses on “Rebuilding Spirituality”, we will focus on Magick as the probably only authentic western system of initiation and development. Although Magic(k) has quite changed over the last centuries and in turn became more refined with every iteration, there are certain axioms and approaches which, if applied correctly, can help to situate the practitioners properly within the ever-increasingly complex psyche/world that they inhabit today and aling them with their future. This course aims to confront the catastrophe of postmodern spirituality and renew Magick for our current age in regard with the help of systems-theory and depth-psychology.
Tom Amarque will guide us through this introduction to Magick, focusing on its history and basic principles, such as self-alignment, autopoiesis and will. Join Tom for supportive depth-oriented feedback that includes live Q & A sessions. Get special access to advanced theory modules explaining the view necessary to make sense of how we reformat authentic transformational spirituality for our strange and disturbing times.
About Parallax
Parallax is a European online media platform offering constructive and fresh perspectives for the post-post modern age. We publish essays and podcasts, webinars and lectures, and are a hub for original and heterodox thinking.
The word ‘parallax’ stems from the old greek παράλλαξις parállaxis, which means to shift the viewpoint of the observer. The name suggests psychoactive and alternative sense-making, as opposed to mainstream narratives and ideologies.
Through our work with various European ‘digital tribes’, we create media and Bildung (education), and promote social, cognitive and spiritual development. Moreover, we aim to provide a European counterpoint to the dominant anglo-saxon narratives.
