Dear friends of Parallax,
We are very happy to offer you great new heterodox content on our March-newsletter.
First and foremost, Andrew Sweeny did a fantastic interview with Tammy Peterson which he called ‘Making a Deal with God’. Don´t miss out on that one. The Matriarch speaks.
Tammy Peterson grew up in the Canadian prairies (Fairview, Alberta) on a plateau she called ‘the top of the world’; she now lives in Toronto, Canada. She is a mother of two, a massage therapist, an artist, and the wife of the famous author and controversial professor Jordan Peterson. She is also a great storyteller with a subtle sense of humor, and is a profoundly wise person, I discovered in this interview. I spoke to her about her near-death experience and various trials and tribulations she endured over the past couple years and her subsequent spiritual ‘rebirth’ and decision to serve God as a result. She expressed gratitude for her husband’s work and serving him during his whirlwind world tour, but also trying to find meaning beyond her maternal role. Her big question during the tour was: 'what am I doing here'? Today she seems to have answered this question pretty definitively. Not only has she found new meaning and spiritual direction in her life, but she has also rediscovered her love for painting. Tammy Peterson is now a pretty cool grandmother and is speaking out fearlessly on zoom thanks to the deal she made with God! I hope she will be an important voice alongside her husband in the future. We need more matriarchs like her! - Andrew Sweeny
Daniel Christian Wahl - biologist, thinker, author and two times Jim Rutt-Show guest - published the essay SUSTAINABILITY IS NOT ENOUGH on Parallax. “Sustainability alone is not an adequate goal. The word sustainability itself is inadequate, as it does not tell us what we are actually trying to sustain. In 2005, after spending two years working on my doctoral thesis on design for sustainability, I began to realize that what we are actually trying to sustain is the underlying pattern of health, resilience and adaptability that maintain this planet in a condition where life as a whole can flourish. Design for sustainability is, ultimately, design for human and planetary health.” READ MORE HERE
For German readers: Dominik Irtenkauf wrote a review for the book BACKLASH by KILIAN JÖRGS.
Andrew Sweeny wrote SACRED SEXUALITY AND TANTRA - “Today some basic techniques of sexual tantra are no longer secret, but to be practiced properly they require skilled compassionate teachers, otherwise they are either futile or dangerous. Tantra needs to be held within a sacred context. Sacred sexuality can never be bought or sold on the marketplace. That is because it is about the most intimate and the most real.” … READ MORE”
After recuperating from a knee-operation Andrew is on fire now. He also released SWEENY VS BARD SEASON 3 EPISODE 9: THE METAPHYSICS OF THE DIGITAL AGE WITH ALEXANDER ELUNG. A wide ranging discussion about art, metaphysics, religion, narrative and philosophy with screenwriter, composer Alexander Elung. Two hours of deep shit!
Tom Amarque´s book THE WLL TO TRANSCENDENCE is free for downloading this March. Don´t miss out, it’s a great book on the evolutionary set-up of spirituality.
What is spirituality, where is its origin, its meaning and its future? What problems are associated with contemporary spirituality? What is its evolutionary potential, and what perspectives can we choose to arrive at a mature spirituality.
Tom Amarque formulates a philosophy of transcendence through which we can approach these questions and get a clear picture of the function of spirituality.
Tom Amarques ‘BRAWL’, in which he rambles on about various topics, from Mickey Mouse-Buddhism of the west, avoiding Facebook as the most important rule for life, MAGICK and developmental psychology, has also two new episodes.
About Parallax
Parallax is a European online media platform offering constructive and fresh perspectives for the post-post modern age. We publish essays and podcasts, webinars and lectures, and are a hub for original and heterodox thinking.
The word ‘parallax’ stems from the old greek παράλλαξις parállaxis, which means to shift the viewpoint of the observer. The name suggests psychoactive and alternative sense-making, as opposed to mainstream narratives and ideologies.
Through our work with various European ‘digital tribes’, we create media and Bildung (education), and promote social, cognitive and spiritual development. Moreover, we aim to provide a European counterpoint to the dominant anglo-saxon narratives.
